A brilliant twist on a  popular dessert


125g unsalted butter, diced
125 golden caster sugar
3 medium eggs
3 tbsp milk
250g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
3 ripe bananas, mashed
350g dulce de leche


  1. Preheat oven to 190°C
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time
  4. Beat in the milk gradually
  5. Sift and fold in the dry ingredients
  6. Stir in the mashed bananas
  7. Divide the mixture between cake cases
  8. Bake in the oven for about 25mins until golden
  9. Remove from oven and leave to cool
  10. Spoon the dulce leche over the cup cakes

If you like you can add further decoration such as, for example, Maltesers™ or chocolate hearts
