100g brown sugar
50g plain flour
250ml milk
2 egg yolks
50g margerine
1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Place the sugar and flour into a saucepan, then add the milk gradually, stirring into a paste
  2. Heat gently until thickened
  3. Allow to cool a bit
  4. Add the margerine, egg yolks and vanilla
