125g butter
50g brown sugar
2 tbsp honey
175g rolled oats
rind of 1 orange, grated


  1. Preheat oven to 190C
  1. Melt the butter over a low heat
  1. Mix in the sugar and honey untill all of the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat
  1. Stir in rolled oats and orange zest
  1. Empty mixture into a baking tray
  1. Bake in oven for 25 minutes
  1. Remove from oven, allow to cool
  1. Cut into fingers/ squares as desired

Why not try adding other things to the basic flap jack mixture (the above mixture omitting the orange zest)? Such as, nuts, cherries, dried fruit, chocolate chips etc.
