400g white plain flour
200ml water (slightly warm)
6g sachet dried baker's yeast
1tsp sugar
2tsp salt
2tsp mixed herbs
2tsp baking powder
1tbsp olive oil


  1. Prepeare a yeast starter by mixing the water, sugar and dried yeast together.  Leave to stand for five to ten minutes, until the surface is covered with a fine froth.
  2. Sift the flower and remaining dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and oil and kneed together into a dough (using a bread maker if available)
  4. Leave to rise for 1hr
  5. Roll into a disc and bake in a hot oven briefly before applying topping.
